please help id this snail

    I now have two of these in my tank. I would love to know what kind of snails these are. Are these the kind that reproduce on their own? Thanks much

    I noticed them in my goldfish tank, do you think they will be a problem?

    No, but I like having snails in my tanks. I DID have a lot of MTS, but I somehow managed to kill them all off.

    They look like red ramshorns and they can become a problem if allowed to breed out of control. They d lay small clear egg masses on plants glass decor etc. You can scrape these off and or squash them. You also can squash the snails and feed them to the fish.

    Agreed. I think it looks like a ramshorn too.

    +6, yes they can be a problem if they over produce but it can easily be taken care of by the advice given.
