PLEASE Help get my water to normal levels! I do not want to lose any more fish!

Yeah, the only difference is that TSS+ contains more bacteria per ounce than TSS does. I don't believe that the two weeks rule is changed at all.

I did a 50 percent water change last night and will add the TSS when it has been 24 hours since the change. I hope the TSS will help.. I don't know why I feel like I will never have normal levels in my tank

You will. I can guarantee it. Do you know who will never have normal levels in their tank? Someone that does not care. You obviously do care, so it'll get there. Please know that every single person here has struggled with a tank at least once, and everyone here learns something new daily on this forum. That's what it's here for. We ask questions, share advice, brainstorm, and problem solve.

OK, speech over.

Thank you for the encouragement! It is just really hard to see these fish suffering the way they are. I would actually like to enjoy my new hobby and have fun with it but instead of doing this, I find myself looking at the fish and always trying to look for new health issues with the fish (red gills, staying at the gravel, not eating etc). Its like I am becoming paranoid! I can’t wait to have some healthy fish so I can at least add some more fish! I will add the TSS today and will update or ask questions if I find any issues. All you guys have been very helpful, and I am really thankful!

HI everyone,

It has been 4 days since I put in TSS in my tank and I decided to check my levels. I know I am not supposed to check my parameters until after 2 weeks but my guppy looked to be slow and in worse shape. The other 2 fishes in my tank look Ok though. So here is what I found today:

High range PH: looks to be a bit lighter than 7.4
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0

how do those numbers look after 4 days of TSS? It looks like my PH is a little elevated. What can I do to lower it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The ammonia and nitrites look great!
Wouldn't worry too much about the pH.

I would question your nitrate reading.
It shouldn't be 0 at this point.

I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread but the #2 Nitrate bottle can be tricky.
It's not totally liquid. f it's not mixed properly you could get a false 0 reading.

Test the nitrates again. This time tap the #2 bottle against a table a couple of times then shake the heck out it.

I just rechecked and the Nitrate level is between 10 and 20 ppm. Do my parameters look Ok for now?

If your ammonia and nitrite are 0 and your nitrates are between 10-20 that's better than ok.

That's great!.....and cycled!!

Oh man, I really hope It's cycled! Should I still wait the full 14 days before rechecking the water? Also, how much water should I change after the 14 days?

UPDATE!

I just tested the water again this morning. It seems that my PH is high. Everything else seems perfect but its just this darn PH! My 14 day TSS cycle will be over this Wednesday and I plan on doing a 30% water change on Thursday. Here is what my numbers look like:

PH: 7.6
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 10 to 20 PPM

I am adding a few pictures so you guys can see exactly what I seen when I tested it. What can I do to lower my PH? Does this mean I am not cycled?

Your PH is fine

and really, depends on the species of fish you plant to keep, but most fish will be fine at your PH.

Your pH is just fine and your tank appears to me to be cycled. The pH is important when you acclimate new fish to the tank, and you don't want it all over the place, but otherwise it's not something to get overly concerned with. Fish can tolerate a range. Even most fish and plants that prefer softer water should be fine at 7.6 or so.

Jak3d, I recommend you stock your tank slowly now so your BB has a chance to grow to your added bioload. Remember to acclimate your fish before adding, for me, this is when I was most impatient, is getting fish in !! LOL
