Please Help Answer Mystery & Nerite Snail Question/concern.

My small tiger nerite is basically attaching itself to the face of my large mystery snail. (Not going for a ride on her back but on her face area where her antenna things are)
My mystery snail seems to be twitching her face/body trying to go into her shell to get the nerite off of her.
I’m wondering has anyone ever seen this, is this hurting my mystery snail?
Because I’m about ready to take the nerite and drop it into my clown loach tank if it is hurting my mystery snail.

[Will Attached pic next time it happens if needed]

They should live happily together, it sounds a bit like the nerite is trying to mate with the wrong species

So you don’t think it’s hurting the mystery?

I don't know to be honest, see what happens on the next encounter, it is unusual whether its territorial fight for food or trying to mate

WTFish?

I found this to happen often but usually just on the shell. Same with mysteries doing it to nerites. Could be mating behavior and also cleaning each other.

My mystery snails do this when cleaning each other or laying eggs on each other

Seperate them and put them at opposite ends of your tank and see what they do next. maybe add a veggie or cuttlebone or algae wafer or shrimp pellet and see if they go for that or each other. On a side note Snail pics are always encouraged

I second the adding types of food, maybe they are missing something from there diet I remember reading of these types of snails eating ill shrimp that can't defend themselves. The cause being there lacking something they need. But is in all likelihood nothing if they are what they are suppose to be.

Thanks for the input everyone. I’m feeling that it could possibly be attempted wrong breeding attempts, cleaning, or the nerite trying to lay eggs on the mystery; because the do lay eggs on their shells all the time.

It’s definitely not lack of food bc they have a cuttlebone in there tank at all times hanging on a veggie clip. I also occasionally drop in some shrimp pellets, homemade Snell-O, and algae wafers. They’re quite spoiled.
