Platy with bump. Prolapse?

Hi! I've had a freshwater aquarium for a few months with some Platy and guppies. I've had a few Platy births. However, this one is different. My female Platy had only one fry and now she has this weird pink bump around her anus? Please help! Is it a prolapse? Are the fry stuck? What can I do! Is she in pain?

Unfortunately it does look like a prolapse. How is she acting?

Sometimes it'll correct itself so just make sure the water is pristine. Make sure other fish don't pick on her. Try to do some research on here about prolapse & what u can do to help it heal. It could also be that she's had a lot of pregnancies & so it's just worn out, for a jack of a better word. I hope she stays normal. Good luck!

My platy had a prolapse and that's how it looked as well. She ended up passing, but did well until she didn't. I wasn't aware that it could heal itself.

You could try fasting her for a day and the try feeding her a deshelled cut up pea for a couple of days and keep the water as clean as you can with water changes. It is possible for her to heal so is worth a try. Alison
