Platy Stuck With Open Mouth

I have had this platy several months now, he was born in this tank. I have recently moved him, around two months ago, to a new tank with some neon tetras. He has always seemed to be thriving, always the first to eat, healthy weight, vibrant colours, but when I fed him tonight I noticed that his mouth seemed weird, like his lower lip stuck out. I looked closely at it, and it looks like it is stuck open? I will upload parameteres of my tank in the morning, along with a photo if I can get a decent one. Hope you can help me, I stupidly got attached to this little guy. Thanks

 

What is the substrate? Small enough to eat? When did you last feed him and what?

I know my platy’s mouth stays open when she takes a nice big piece of the corys’ sinking pellet and she can’t swallow it. Her lip puffs out and it almost looks like she’s gasping. She also does this when she over eats.

Are neon tetras the only fish he lives with? It may be an injury due to fighting with another platy or other fish. Does his mouth look fuzzy? Post a picture if you can.
