Platy not giving birth after 3 months

Hi, I bought a female and male platy in August and the female platy looks pretty pregnant when we first bought her. However, she did not drop any fry and her belly got smaller. We suspect that the fry have been eaten up as the male platy and guppies keep pecking her belly and birth canal. Recently I noticed her belly looks more "squared off", does anyone know whether it is confirmed a sign of giving birth soon? I have also remove the male platy from the main tank as he kept pestering her.
Also, my tank is pretty empty so not sure if my platy is not giving birth cause there is not much hiding spot.

Yeah they probably got eaten. If you want them to survive put in some live plants and substrate. I have a few tiny babies living in the plants rn

Livebearers can abort their fry, it happens most often when they are stressed. This may not be what happened! But it is important to keep 2-3 females per male. The males will harass the females, even if they are already pregnant. It is also important to have some tall live or silk plants where the females can hide, and some lower hideouts for the fry.

Is the sea star decoration a real dead sea star? it can alter your ph, causing a ph swing every time you do a water change.

First, that's not a Platy, it is a Molly. The dorsal fin starts behind the hump on the back; Platies dorsal starts on top of the hump. Also, it is a color variety called Gold Dust, which does not occur in Platies at this time.

If she dropped shortly after you got them, they may not have been fully developed, and would have been easily eaten by other fish. A long period between pregnancies is usually related to temperature, though water quality can also have an effect. If there are other fish in the tank and there is no cover, they will eat the fry again.

Hi! Thank you for the advices. Since I have last posted on 9th Dec 2021. The Molly still did not drop her fry and the belly just got even bigger. It look like she is n verge of exploding :D
I'm suspecting she has parasite in her belly instead of fry o_O Also, her anal gland seem to be red and the sides of her skin(?) seem like its peeling. Not sure what's up with her!
