29 Gallon Tank Platy Mouth Fungus

The other day, my platy had a little bump on his chin, and the next day, had some white fluffy stuff on the top of his mouth, which after a couple days disappeared, but is back now. I can't get a picture but it looks like he is missing part of his mouth at the side, and also looks like his mouth is cracked/ripped down the middle on the bottom. I don't know what to do, my tank has been so healthy and now this.. I don't have a hospital tank or anything, but I could always set up one of the 10 gallon tanks with some gravel from the tank he's in right now.. just to get him out of there. I need help! Ps, he's the only fish showing any signs of a fungus on him and the water quality is good.

I suggest taking that 10 gallon (no gravel) and tossing some old water from that tank into it and adding a sponge filter to start. less exposure = less fish sick c:

Thanks, she ended up passing shortly after I posted this. Hopefully none of my other fish get sick.

For your future references, if a fish is sick, toss into QT. Why? so it don't spread ^^ gl on your next one

I had a fish do the same thing nearly. In my case it was columnaris. Read about that and if the symptoms match treat accordingly. I'm using Kordon Rid Ich Plus because ich presented also. This also treats more than just ich. Anyway, that is my best guess as to what is infecting your tank. Be careful, it is subtle, and not all signs show all the time. I had frayed fins in one death and mouth issues as you described in the next.

Good luck and I hope you can identify it soon.
