Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has any tips for the general care of livebearer fry since this is the first time I have had any. I have ten fry that I think are platy but there might be some swordtail in the mix. I made a little DIY breeder box that they are in now, and I have a 13 gallon bin that I am going to set up with a sponge filter for when they get big enough. They are currently eating crushed flakes and crushed freeze dried brine shrimp... I posted a thread on this a couple days ago, but I’d really like to make sure i’m doing everything right, so any tips would be appreciated. I’ll attach a picture.

Congrats on your new fry! I would move them to the 13 gallon as soon as possible so they have a filter going. Try to keep them out of the breeder box, as it can stunt their growth and more water changes will be needed. You could feed them BBS, but crushed flakes is fine too.

yeah, I considered that they might be hybrids. Are there any complications to that?
