Platy fry fighting?

Hey! I have 2 platy fry in a 2.5 gallon tank. I know the tank is small, but I figured it’d be okay since they’ll go into a 20 gallon once they get big enough. They are only a month old. I feed them three times a day with crushed flakes and occasionally something else such as brine shrimp or egg yolk. Recently I’ve noticed that they attack each other whenever I feed them. They both get food, as there is plenty and they don’t even come close to eating it all, but they get super aggressive anyways. At first it was just chasing, but now they have a whole fighting stance thing and they seem stressed. I don’t know what gender they are, but one is bigger than the other. If the tank size is the problem, I can upgrade them to a 5 gallon or separate them, though that would be inconvenient and my parents would not appreciate another tank. They don’t fight when I’m not feeding them. Is there anything I can do or should I just leave them?

They should be about big enough to not get ate depending whats in the main tank. Might be time ti join the rest of the pack.

The main tank is just mollies and platys. I don’t think I’ll put them in yet since they’re still super tiny and one of my mollies might get aggressive and hurt one. I also have a really strong filter on the main tank. Do you think I should move them to the 5 gallon or just leave them for now?

You could try the 5 gal. Might be able to put food on opposite ends so maybe they go seperate ways for feeding. Could try that in a 2.5 as well, but depending on the design, may not have opposite ends.

It’s a 2.5 tall and the filter takes up a lot of space.
I put food all around but they decide to fight each other anyways. Could it have something to do with gender? I can’t keep them if they’re both male since it’s mess up my ratio

Don't know. You probably won't really be able to tell for a couple months yet at least.

Yeah that’s what I thought. I’ll probably just move them to the 5 gallon and see what happens. Thanks
