Platy fin rot or just damage?

Hello,
I believe my new female platy may have fin rot. I picked her up from the store about a week ago and I've noticed some damage to her front left fin since then. Thankfully she is still swimming and eating and doesn't seem to be hiding very much (despite the fact I believe she is also pregnant). Anyways I'm just worried that it may progressively get worse and the illness could spread to her other fins, but I don't want to commence medical treatment if it's unnecessary.

Maybe someone could give me some advice and insight as to what the damage on her fin may be.

Also, sorry about the quality of the photos. she would not stop moving haha

Is there any discoloration? Other fish could be nipping her. Has a male been harassing her?

I believe there may be some slight white discoloration on the end of her fin but I'm not exactly sure. Nothing worse than what's in the photos. I will continue to watch for more discoloration over the next few days.

The male has definitely been harassing her but I've not really seen fin nipping.. more just belly nipping and mating rituals.

If you think that it’s fin rot, which it definitely could be, you should separate her so the other fish don’t get it. You can add aquarium salt to your tank to see if that helps. If it continues getting worse, I recommend getting treatment. Especially if it spreads to other fins

Alright! I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
Unfortunately, I don't have another tank so isolating her is a bit of an issue, although I do have a Fluval breeder box that hangs off the side of my tank.. would that be okay to use? Or is using circulating the same water she uses as the other fish not a good idea? Not sure if fin rot can transfer that way..

thanks for all the info! It's super appreciated

A breeder box wouldn’t do anything. Fin rot can be caused by dirty water, so you should do water changes more frequently. Even if she is not sick, this will only help your fish. If you don’t monitor your water levels already, you should start. Definitely get an extra tank if it is possible though

I agree with the fin nipping part, but if it gets worse you should remove other fish and monitor her over time to see if it is one or the other. Get treatment if she can't swim when the other fish aren't there. I think you should also do frequent water changes.
