Plastic hard pipe and glue !!!! What's fw & sw safe

    We're moving and I want to hard pipe my filter system but what pipe and glue will be safe to not introduce phosphates or other residue to my system?? 120 fw and setting up a 75 sw;)

    any pvc pipe should be fine . As for glue im not sure. I have always used the cheap stuff with no ill effects

    And how long after I set it up should I wait to run water through it??

    be safe and wait 24 hours. It actually takes 45 mins, but imo id wait the 24 hours

    cichlidman is right.

    Most PVC pipe should be fine.

    As for glue, I can't remember what mine is called, but it is green. PVC glues have different colours for different purposes. I think green and purple are typical for aquaria, the blue I don't think is recommended (could be wrong though)

    i also have used the blue (its super hot and fast drying) sets in about 10 seconds is used for irrigation and ponds and about every thing else . Id just use the cheap old clear stuff
