Plants to go with Angelfish?

Hi everyone. I have a 20 gallon tank that I just set up a couple of days ago with Flourite. It also has a rock ornament in the center, and 1 fake plant in the corner. I plan on getting 2 baby angelfish. What would be good plants to put in here? I know the Amazon Sword plants and the Java Fern would be good, but what else? Water Wisterias?

20 gallons is a bit small for angels. I would only put one in, if your determined too, because they do very well singly and you don't have room for territorial disputes. Is the tank cycled yet? I would stick some jungle val in it- I recently got some and the angels love swimming in it. It looks pretty cool too. They're not very picky about the plants- experiment, see what you like best and what grows well.

I agree i would only do one angel. You could also do anubis nana, hornwort, banana plant, Anacharis, dwarf hair grass just some more ideas depending on your light

    Welcome to Fishlore.

Are you wanting to set up an Amazon biotope or would any plants do? I would not recommend an Amazon Sword for a 20G tank as these plants get huge! I have one that takes up close to 1/4 of my 90G tank and is growing out of the water.

What type of lighting do you have? You need to match plants to the available lighting for the greatest success.

Good low light plants are Java Fern, Java Moss, Jungle Vals, Crypts, Water Wisteria and Water Sprite; however these are not Amazonian plants.

I am using LED lights. They came with the kit I bought. I know I can only use low light plants.

[TD]This is what I have in with my Angelfish and Rams. I have relatively low light and do nothing special to care of them. They are doing great.
