Plants growing like crazy but still getting brown marks?

HI everyone! I got some plants shipped about a month and a half ago and have noticed some considerable growth on one of the plants, which I still don't know what is called, anyways it's growing like weed under 2wpg with CFLs, in my dirted tank. two days ago I noticed two new top leaves, and yesterday night-today they are fully grown, but I noticed some strange brown marks on the plant. The tank is still new and haven't cycled yet (I know it's been a long time but I can seed the filter media whenever I want), so can this be diatoms? I rubbed the plant with my fingers and it didn't go, at least not all of it. Could this be a deficiency of some sort, but what kind of, isn't the soil covering the needs of the plant?
Also, how come there are holes in the plant's leaves? There are no fish in the tank, only pond snails.
I'm dosing DIY CO2 as well.
First picture is of the brown mark, second of the holes.
Any advice on how to take care of this will be appreciated!
Thanks guys!

I read that pond snails will eat plant matter, especially diseased plant parts, thus this could explain the holes. I also have brown parts of plant, pond snails, and holes, and I have been assuming that pond snails consume the parts of the plant that are not healthy. However, since my plant has been growing well and has some new nice green leaves, I have not been too worried about the older leaves with brown parts and holes. In my case the brown parts have definitely been a combination of dead diatoms which I did not wipe off carefully enough but also some nutrient deficiency. I have recently started using some plant food (Seacham Complete).

True, I read that today as well, but my plants seem really green, at least the one that has holes on :S ... I hate it and I'm affraid it's gonna affect the other plants as well... I'm gonna get rid of all the pond snails for sure though.

Pond snails do like to eat plants! If not the snails, something else is eating your plant.

As for the brown coloration, that looks natural and not an issue. It is very possible you have a plant that will produce brown or red leaves as they age. I've seen that plant before, with the red/bronze coloring. I just cannot pull the name of it out of my head yet. When I think of it I'll let you know....unless someone else beats me to it.

Really, do you think it might be natural? I so hope so. It's just growing so well and so quick that I'm starting to love it lol.
I knew they should've gone ages ago, I just neglected it... And imagine, they came as hitchhikers with the plants, the plants stayed in the mail for 5 days and were very weak, 90% of the snails were dead and is smelled bad, I rinsed the plants, and planted them, no snails for a week. They have INVADED my tank and I have NEVER dropped a single fish flake in the dirted tank!
