Java moss, Java fern and types of Anubis are all good plants. Just make sure to keep up with water changes and Mollies can be messy.

Our livebearer aquarium is all anubis and java ferns. They can deal with the small amount of salt in the water for the mollies.

I don't know what you mean by comets but the Mollies don't need salt in their water.

Where will the goldfish go or do you have another tank/pond. I wouldn't add salt unless you Absolutely have too. Java moss will be fine with them too.

Actually they do if they were raised with it and the store (PetCo) sells them in it. chromedome52 made a very informative post on this. I could never keep them alive in straight FW. Now they thrive. I am slowly acclimating them to Freshwater so they can be moved to the 150 FW.

They need differing water temps.

Funny thing, I did not notice that we were talking about a 10 gal. Yeah even with the smaller molly types you need at least a 20, the larger ones need much bigger. Our sail fins are getting too big for the 37 and are going to end up in the 150.

Those mollies need at least a 29 gallon as they can grow quite large; female black mollies can reach 5 inches in length. The comets are a different story altogether; they will need a pond as they will reach a size most conventional hobbyists can't accommodate in a home aquarium, as they grow 12 to 18 inches. Unless you can get an aquarium that is several hundred gallons, you can't house comets or common goldfish indoors in a way that is suitable for their requirements.
