I am wanting to add more plants to my guppy tank for the fry to hide in. What is the quickest growing plant that doesn't use nitrogen?

Floating plants. Frogbit. Guppy grass, wisteria, java moss Most plants can be floated as well as planted to accomodate fry hiding places

I've tried many plants over the years, and haven't been very successful with any of them. The only thing I've had much success with is duckweed. I know folks who have to trim their water sprite and wisteria every week, but for some reason it doesn't want to grow much in my tanks.
I found a plant that even grows in my tanks. I can't remember the exact name, but it's got octopus in the title. It provides great cover for fry, and you can root it or let it float.
My advice for guppy breeding is to find whatever plant grows the fastest in your tanks.

I have java moss, banana plants and small anubias.
But they make the anubias come out of the bottom and they float.
Water sprite dies in my aquarium.
I'm thinking duck weed and guppy grass are the two I'm going to try next.
I have used Hornwort and Java moss tied with some fishing line and attached to a suction cup to float.

Java Fern is a good low light plant to try, just like Anubias make sure the rhizome doesn't get planted in the substrate. Or ties it to some driftwood or rock.
