I finally found a banana plant at my LFS and snatched it up! It's quite mature and I didn't realize there were roots aside from the banana.

Do I let these out free or planet them under the substrate? I have the bananas 1/4 in like I've read.

    Thanks

I always just put mine on the to of the substrate. The other roots will anchor it eventually. I think burying a little bit is ok though

Sadly mine is being destroyed by my Pleco and red tail shark.....gnawing away at the 'bananas'. I moved it to another tank where hopefully it can do better....
