Planted Tank Lighting For 6 Foot Tanks?

Zach72202

So I have been toying with the idea of getting a 125g tank, and I know in the future I want to have 180g tanks, but I also like planted tanks.

Does anybody know what lights work good for these tanks? Anything comparable to the Fluval 3.0? That's what light I currently use on my 4ft tanks, and I was going to use 2 3ft lights of theirs, but with the raising prices I am wondering if there is anything that is comperable in strength, but not nearing the price of the Fluval.

I have two Finnex Stingray 2s on my 125g. They’re definitely not as fancy as a Fluval as they’re either on or off. They grow algae pretty good and only around $70 per 3’

Do you have any stem plants growing in there? Any light can make algae, but I sell my trimmings to a fish-store when they get big, plus I like how it looks when the plants get large and lush

Just some easy ones like water wisteria and p. Octopus. Both grow like weeds and I’m constantly mulching around the yard with them.

I have a large planted tank, not 6ft but 160cm, about 63 inches. We use two led 50W floodlights that provide 6000 lumens each, and cost about $24 each. Its not a high tech tank, no CO2 but the plants are doing great.

Thats almost exactly what I have. I have those two, rotala, and dwarf Hygro. They all grow wild with a fluval 3.0 on my 75.
