Hey I got this plant by a friend and would like to find out the name and some information (such as high light or low light, co2, etc.) will be highly appreciated:

Why can't I get roots to grow in order to anchor the plant? I tried to plant it, the plant would float up.
Tried to get a pic of the bottom part of the plant.

Never mind the flashes of guppies, first time they see me today.
Please request more information or pictures if needed.
    Thanks in advance.

Water wisteria, low-high light, leaf shape will vary depending on lighting. It should root if you get it to stay planted long enough.

How deep is your substrate? You can get plant anchors to get them to stay planted. You could also leave them floating for the roots to grow and then plant them.

i leave all my plants floating in order to get roots but nothing happens to this plant. My plants usually take a week to get roots but not this one. Will leave it floating longer. Any idea what plant it is?
