I have a few anacharis in my 25g tank most seem to be dying looking dingy and almost black in some areas yet they are sporting new growths that look really healthy what is going on here? Should I discard the nasty looking ones. I don't use any fert they were doing fine but declining now had them for about 3-4 months now.

Lights on about 6-8 hours a day depending when I decide to goto bed then I turn on the moon light or whatever. It does get a weird angle of sunlight in the evening but not a long period of time and not the whole tank.

Anacharis don't do well in hard water i am told. Any idea on water hardness? Are you using liquid ferts?
