Planning Upgrade From 29 Gallon To 55 Gallon

Looking primarily for stocking/filtration advice for upgrading a fairly-well planted 29 gallon to 55 gallons. Current substrate is large gravel (planning on using very small pea gravel in new tank). Current filter is an Tetra Whisper EX 45.

Currently stocked with:

9 Corys (8 Schwarti, 1 Agassizi)
4 platys
7 espeI rasbora
3 amano shrimp
6 Nerite snails

Once the 55 is ready, would like to add a few more rasboras, and have one or two "centerpiece" fish (gourami, german blue ram, etc.) Anyone have any ideas about what final stocking plan should look like?

As to filtration, I'll probably go with a cannister filter. I'm pretty good at doing 30-50% water changes per week, so the water quality is consistently excellent (0, 0, 10-20). pH generally hovers just around neutral (slightly acidic).

 

I would add more agrassizI corys they like to be in groups of the same species.for a centerpiece fish you could have a opline gourami.

I thought about that - the only reason I have the Agassizinis because one day (after dragging my wife to the LFS), she saw an AgassizI that had just had an eye out out by another fish, and demanded we bring it home. I asked the employee (a very knowledgeable guy) whether the Schwartzis would allow the AgassizI to school with them. He said probably, but no guarantees. Since then, they have accepted him pretty well.

 

Well then instead of the second school of corys you could have another school of tetras or rasboras like you said mabye add more espeI rasboras and a 12 neon tetras or harlequin rasboras.

 

Gouramis would be a great centerpiece.

Guppies, mollies, and tetra schools will all bring color to your tank.
