Planning For Future 30 And 90 Gallon

HI so right now I only have 2 freshwater tanks but I eventually want to get a 1 or 3 saltwater tanks. For my first salt tank I'm going to get a clownfish pair and keep them in a 30 gallon unless that's too small because I want a bubble tip anemone with them? And for the 90 gallon I want a goby, a Christmas island Kole tang, coral beauty angel, and I'm not sure what else can that can go into the 90 gallon? Any suggestions? And what else can go in with the clownfish?

Lol clowns are cute but I heard they can only be in pairs or else they will fight each other

Tell me if you think so after they get established and bite you when you put your hands in the tank for maintenance. Clownfish can be downright nasty once established even with the most peaceful varieties.

A pair of Ocellaris (ie Nemo) or Percula variety clowns will do well by themselves in a 30 gallon and would be an excellent choice for a first tank. Just be aware that they can become fiesty once they get established (as mentioned above).

As for the 90 gallon, your list looks good although I'm not sure what a Christmas Island Kole Tang is (are you talking about the Cheveron Tang?). If it is a Cheveron Tang be aware they get a bit big for a 90 gallon and even worse their colors do not last and they become quite drab as they mature. Certainly not worth the money they cost IMHO. Either go with a regular Kole Tang or a White Tail Bristletooth if you want something to hold it's color as it matures. Beyond that the stock list for the 90 gallon looks good. Are you planning on a reef tank or fish only? I ask because dwarf angels are a mixed bag with whether or not they will nip at corals. The good news is that Coral Beauty Dwarf Angels tend to be a bit better than average in that department (as compared to say a Bicolor or Lemon Peel). I have one in my 90 gallon and it leaves my Euphyllia dominant frags alone for the most part (occasional exploratory nip but nothing that hurts the Corals long term).

It's definitely more than a tickle with clownfish there are pictures of some folks who have their hands covered with Red Marks from multiple bites. The larger and more aggressive varieties (ie Maroon, Tomato, Cinnamon) can draw blood with their bites.

Yes that's what I've heard that ocellaris clowns are great for beginners, I've fallen in love with mocha storms and the one that looks like Nemo but black instead of orange
Yea I didn't think that's what it that Kole tang was. The fish I want is red and I only know it exists because Taylor Nicole dean has it and I fell in love with it. That's a screen shot from the video where she unboxed all the big fish.
And I'll probably start with fish only at first but I do want to eventually get a bubble tip anemone and other corals and plant like creatures that move. I like when they move lol

Oh lol well I'm going to assume it will feel almost the same as when my crested gecko Cheese bites me, which feels like if you took 2 bottle caps together and pinched your skin with them and them pull. So not really painful just surprising lol. He's never drawn blood before thought

The red one might be this gorgeous fish! It's expensive and gets to be about 6 and a half inches but the description says it can go in a 70 gallon and I want a 90.

That's the White Tailed Bristletooth. I don't mention them much anymore due to sticker shock for most and availability can be hit and miss at times but if you are patient and willing to pay up for it you can get one.

Ya on that website they're selling them for 249.99-279.99 depending on size. So hopefully they have them when I finally get my tank.

Not sure if you can set LA up for alerts but maybe set it up that way. If memory serves me correctly they most often pop up on their Diver's Den section.

I have a TominI and a yellow eye Kole Tang in my 75 and they both do well together.
Something to think about for the 90, Anthias, they are a colorful fish and most can tolerate a tang.

I have never heard of a tominI and an anthias before but they're so pretty! :3
I will definitely think about it! I'm still stocking my 20 gallon freshwater, have to redecorate Doom head's tank, and look into getting a figure 8 puff before I jump into the salty tanks!

Going brackish would be a good way to go as it will at least give you some practice with maintaining salinity levels.

Despite saltwater being my passion, I have been tempted to setup a 30 gallon brackish just to have a Figure 8.
