Hopefully I'll have something to post to this thread in a few months, if my baby plants make it!

I've become a bit obsessed with taking pictures to see how it's changed, it's so hard to tell otherwise when you see the tank every day.

By the way, I love that plant Riza1990. Is it a difficult plant?

Beautiful tanks everyone! I love heavily planted tanks I'm going to be taking weekly pictures of my 15 gallon betta tank as I develop it aswell

Great pictures, the tank looks great! I do weekly or biweekly pictures as well, just to keep track of changes or problems.

And from what I can tell it isn't too difficult. I just started doing injected co2 a little under a week ago and it was growing well before that (although I was dosing liquid carbon). I remember looking up basic requirements when I bought it but now I can't remember them at all!

Lovely tank!

I'll post a specific plant as well then, from those "packed in gel" ones that pet smart sells. This one was labeled Alternanthera reineckiI 'cardinalis'. It has come along quicker than I expected it to! Here's three weeks ago when I planted:

And here it is today:

Beautiful!!!
I actually got that plant too. It was one of my petsmart ones. (the pest free packs like you got) but mine aren't doing as well. That is some beautiful growth in just a few weeks! What kind of light do you use? And do you use Co2? I am thinking the lack of Co2 is why mine aren't flourishing as well. But if you aren't using co2, then the only other explanation is lighting. They aren't dying....but they aren't growing at all either...other than growing roots off the stems that are above the substrate. (which looks to me like they want to be propagated.) I guess that is considered growth...I suppose....

Every other plant in my tank has shown amazing growth over the last couple months. but not this one!! I'm jealous of how great yours looks! lol Thanks so much for sharing!!

I agree. It is always really fun to go back and see those before pics and see the growth you don't realize has even occurred! LOL Thanks for sharing yours. Its fun to see the progress!!

Thank you.

The big plant with the frog on it was a few inch big, pest free PetSmart plant.

Thank you! I actually just started using injected co2 almost a week ago, before that I dosed liquid carbon daily and I still saw great growth from it. I use a finnex ray 2 for lighting - it does seem to be a light loving plant from what I can tell!

My light probably isn't strong enough for them to thrive in unfortunately. At least they aren't dying. But I'd love to see some actual growth. I have 10000K full spectrum LEDs, but no idea what the PAR is. Clearly it isn't enough for this plant to flourish. What were you using for liquid carbon?

API co2 booster. None of the fish stores near me sell Excel and I was too impatient to wait for shipping. Seemed to work well enough for the two months it took me to find a pressurized setup!

Is it the temple compacta? That is the temple plant I got from petsmart. Its my favorite of all of them right now. That's the one(s) I posted yesterday (post #45) They would be to the surface by now had I not kept cutting them down to make more

I'm not sure if my tank can be classed as heavily planted but it's certainly looking fuller these days...

Then

And now

Here's a before and after of my Staurogyne repens for some inspiration! I suppose I don't need to see full tank shots.... I just really want to see a baby plant (or plants) when it was a baby and what that baby plant looks like as an adult
What's that purple plant in the back ?

Those are fake, unfortunately!

They are the national geographic brand. I like their silk plants. They last much longer than most silk plants.

, I hate fake plants but I'd love that color inside my tank!

Good day I loving the pix wanted to ask for your tanks are you adding plant supplements and do you use a CO2 defuser wanting to know as I am looking to make my small 15L tank into a planted shrimp tank and want to add plants to my other two tanks as well

Are you asking anyone in particular?

I use CO2, no ferts (as of time of the picture), basic high light.

I was just asking in general. Also wanted to know how the CO2 effects the oxygen content in a tank for my fish

Not a huge amount of time in between but you can still see growth! That water sprite has paid for itself a thousand times over already in all its propagation and the dwarf sag is filling in!

And sorry for the bad quality of this one. I took it with my laptop so the reflections are of my screen. There is not another tank
