Ph Wont Go Down.

Hi, I have a 10 gallon aquarium and my ph is at 8.3. I bought API pH down and ive followed the instructions.(1 ml for 10 gallon) ive done this for 2 days now but its still the same. Can anyone help?

 

Basically, the API pH Up & Down product is garbage, it doesn't work well.
You can lower pH with driftwood, but I honestly don't see 8.3 being an issue.
Mine is always around 8.6 - 8.8 and my fish are perfectly fine.

What fish are you keeping?

 

I would not play with ph. When you do your water changes and if you lower your ph you will kill the fish. Your tap water will not match your lower ph. Leave it alone. Put guppies or platys in your tank, they love high ph and gh. I use ro/dI system for discus and my guppy tank, but on my 40 gallon guppy tank I use salty shrimp gh kh plus. I bring my gh up to 350ppms. My ph is 8.2. I have more guppies now then I ever had in softer water. I feed mainly live baby brine shrimp, and raise brine shrimp adults in a 20 gallon long tank for my discus. I use reef sea salt at a high salt level and the brine shrimp grow quick. I use an algae paste to feed them. No filter in the tank, just an air line. And heater I keep at 80 degrees. The key is the high salt level. Joe h

2 molly and 2 cory

 

Rehome all of your fish. They can’t fit in a 10 gallon tank.
