Ph & Water Changes..

I have a quick question about the effect water changes have on PH. Say my tap water has a PH of 8.0 but my tank has a PH of 7.8 If I change 20% of the water what effect will that have on the PH? Will the effects be enough to stress the fish out?

Well, you'll increase the PH about 20% from 7.8 to 80, which being a logarithmic scale is approximately...Let's see...If I calculate it out...Wow, it's bugger all to 4 decimal places.

You can do larger changes with that difference as well, I think.

So it won't have any negative effects on the PH?

It might alter the pH at first, but it shouldn't hurt your fish.
