Ph test reading

I have the apI freshwater test kit.
My question has to do with the results of the ph test. Simply the standard test read 7.6 and the high range reads 7.4
I'll admit I do find it a little difficult not to second guess the chart with all the tests but I am confident that the standard ph reads 7.6 and not 7.4 and the high range reads 7.4 and not 7.8
I had the same results with my tap water.
Has anyone else had the same results?

This is a test of your tank, or the tap?

Same results for both.

To get accurate pH test results from the tap, you need to get a sample of tap water, put an airstone in it, and leave it for 24 hours. Then you can test it to see the correct results.

I have same problem so I am interested in this thread. if I test my tank water with standard ph test I get 7.6 and then high ph test I get 7.4. does this mean I am in the 7.5 range?

Most likely.

I think the numbers on my chart are switched because on the standard it jumps from 7.2 to 7.6, not the 7.4 you'd expect. On the high range, it starts at 7.4 then to 7.8, not the 7.6 you'd expect.
