Ph Reading?

HI all,

I am wondering what my ph really is. the API test kit shows the low range ph as 7.6. So I check the high range and it shows at 7.4. This is very confusing how can I be higher or at 7.6 when the high shows 7.4?

Any insight is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Well the low test is reading as high as it can and the high test is reading as low as it can.

I would split the difference and say 7.5.

When you're dealing with the API color chart it's sometimes a bit hard to really get spot-on scientific accuracy.

So the kit's low pH jumps from 7.2 to 7.6, it can be very frustrating to read, you are not alone! I agree that splitting the difference @ 7.5 would be a good educated decision.

I have the same issue, so have always settled at 7.5; not that it makes much of a deal with the fish I keep
