Hey guys, I'm back with yet another stupid question, probably.
I have a 6.5ph - got guppies, mollies and platies, tetras and rasboras and some invertebrates. I was told when I started that this PH would be ideal for all species, but recently, speaking with an experienced guy he told me livebearers do not like soft acidic waters, particularly mollies. Now my molly was a young girl when I bought her, panda kind, and the black part was full black now its fading on the edges and I did some research on common signs of stress on mollies, I've noticed shimmies and glass surfing as well. Is this a sign of wrong water? Some websites claim any of the livebearers will live well in a Ph range from 6 to 8... While others claim no less than 7.5....
Now the real question, if I do change my ph to 7 (over time obviously) will it be okay for all the fish? Tetras and rasboras prefer acidic waters but supposedly according to websites they can live in 7ph. In the store I buy my fishes it's hard alkaline water from the tap.
