Peppered cories shy? Lazy?

So I added the 6 peppered cories last night and it seems they lay in a pile of each other or 1 will hide in the decor a bit and the others pile during lights on. At night I have a blue led for a bit, and during this period they seem much more active.

Are they nocturnal fish?

Also, the zebra danios (6) seem to be keeping to the top of the tank now where as before they were all over it. It's a 20 gallon long.

They aren't nocturnal they just don't prefer bright light, subduing your light with floating plants will help

I don't think they're nocturnal. My corys seem to be active at different times during the day and night. They rest for a long period of time and then they get hyperactive the next minute.

Thanks, I'm going to grab some for the time until the fern and crypts grow in. I'm getting a planted plus 24/7 so hope it'll be ok

Yeah, the first night seemed as soon as light went to night they started spazzing all over.

A drop of "Patience" will help. Let them adapt to their new environment.

Do they sell that at petco/petsmart? Hahaha

I'm just super nervous because I google "peppered Cory acclimation" and it was all horror stories.

They do seem to becoming a little more mobile, especially after I switch to the night light. I'm order dwarf water lettuce too just for shade too.

Cories are interesting and funny little creatures. Mine definitely took more time to become comfortable with their new environment than other species of fish did.
My school is definitely most active in the late afternoon and before "lights out". They seem to enjoy it when the other fish have settled down for the night, and the cories feel more free to roam the tank at that point. Mine also like to cuddle when they're taking a snooze.
I wouldn't be worried, like the above posts said.

Yeah, I'm gathering that these guys and gals will be night time fishes. An hour after lights change and they are going crazy on the bottom of the tank.

It's available everywhere (for free).

Pepperonis are the hardiest Corys I know of. A good (carnivorious) variation in food and they'll love you and you'll love them. Indeed they are quite active after feeding and scavaging the whole tank as little submarines !

I've 19 Pepperonis
