I’ve had two 5.5 gallon tank setups on a stand for a year or so now and haven’t had anything in them besides snails in the planted tank, the last previous uses were for fry and snail grow out tanks. My friend thats been in the hobby for awhile was telling me i already have a good setup to start breeding corydora, and that if i do everything right they will breed in the 5.5 gallon tanks. I was kinda doubtful because I’ve already tried breeding cory in the 5.5 gal. Before, but didn’t have any luck. Probably because I wasn’t as motivated nor doing the right prompts to get them to spawn.
Within a week i have successfully got a group of peppered (paleatus) corydora to spawn in a 5.5 gallon tank, consisting of 1 female and 4 males. Doing everyday or two water changes and replacing with cooler water, and feeding lots of bloodworms.
Now I’ve been setting up my other tanks for more corydora breeding. Added a group of emeralds to my 10 gal. with 2 females and 5 males. And the 20 gal. on the top left is now cycling, hopefully planning to get a group of panda cory next.
