Penn-plax 12 gallon aquarium

Has anyone had a penn-plax aquarium? I currently have a HG Fluval Flex Aquarium Wht 34L, 9gal , but the white back is so porus it's impossible to remove all the algae with a scrub or scraper and always looks dingy. I've never had a penn-plax for anything other than filters so I was curious about how well they are built or if anyone has any recommendations for a 10-15 gallon aquarium for a betta.

I have the Flex 9g black. I love it so far. If you like the Flex just get a black one. :)

Does the black have the same porosity issue? It just bothers me that I can't get it totally clean.

Probably it has a plastic back just like the white. It just wont show as much. I always have Nerites and it is pretty new yet so IDK in the long run. On my other tanks I have black backgrounds and you can never see algae on the back glass.

I have 2 five gallon tanks (Penn Plax Curved Corner Glass aquarium) and one 2.7 gallon Penn Plax Vertex tank. I bought them because I loved the look, and they are made with only three pieces of glass (curved front, the back panel, and the bottom). The 2.7 came with a small hob cascade filter. The 5 gallons came with an internal filter, but I liked the cascade hobs, so I just bought a couple of those. I found everything on Amazon.

The only drawback is that the glass if very, very reflective, and my male bettas tend to flare a lot because they see themselves.

I have had to break up their line of sight with live plants, silk plants, Indian almond leaves, etc.
