Is it true that you can feed your betta1/4 of boiled30 second shelless pea for bloating and constipation? Or was that one ruled out ten years ago? Thanks in advanced.

Everyone has a personal opion on these things. Like to use salt for fin rot or %100 water changeas on small tanks. Or they say you can use peas or daphnia . Ive heard it both ways but have yet to try it... Bloating I suggest just waiting it out.

If the betta becomes bloated, fast it for 2-3 days then offer the peas and or daphnia. I feed my comets and guppies peas every other day.

Good point. It's best to try to clear their system first. If you don't see any bowel movements over the next few days, then go for peas. If the peas show no effect after ~3 days, prepare an Epsom salt bath (1 tablespoon per gallon) for ten minutes.

It depends. But I would fast them first, if that doesn't work, daphnia because they are carnivores and aren't meant to be eating plant based things and daphnia is a natural laxative due to the high fiber. Then peas because they aren't meant to eat them, so it passes straight through them. But they all work the same, just your preference.

Daphnia is the better option but believe it or not, it’s just not available everywhere. That’s why we suggest the peas. I can’t find daphnia within 200 miles of me. Not even frozen. This hobby has really turned into an online one for me.

That's interesting to know. Yeah buying everything online for the hobby is honestly the best way to go about it .Where I live there aren't too many fish shops around unless you drive 45 minutes .Petco and petsmart aren't good to buy plants and definitely not fish. Sad.

Wow you can use epsom salt for betta? I didn't know that. Yeah its better to fast bettas one day a week as it gives them a change to digest everything properly, anyway .So I've heard. Thank you for the great advice.
