Pearl scale with dropsy? Or just normal pearlscale?

TheFishFella

Hey there! So recently I had just gotten a pealscale goldfish, and I’m quarantining him in a 10 gallon at the moment. As expected he did get some ich, so he’s being treated for that right now. I did notice that his scales look slightly raised, but that could just be the pearl scale look. I was wondering if anyone here may think it’s dropsy?

Scared when he first arrived, but that’s expected. Otherwise he’s very active.

Explain your emergency situation in detail.
After a couple of days with the pearlscale in the tank I noticed small white dots on his tail which was ich. I wasn’t surprised since I knew he was going to be stressed in a new tank environment. Today I was looking at him when I noticed his scales were slightly raised. I’ve never had a pearlscale before, so this could just be how they look. Either way I thought I saw a little bit of line coming, and wanted to double check. Otherwise his poop is fine, he swims throughout the entire tank, and he eats well.

That's just the Pearlscale characteristic, a mature fish looks like an inside out golf ball with fins.
