Pearl Gourami With Opaline Gourami?

Ive had my 20 gallon for a few months now with 1 opaline gourami, 3 black skirt tetra, 4 serpae tetra, and a 2" bristlenose pleco in it. For a while now I've desperately wanted a pearl gourami as the last fish for the tank and my local store finally got some in! I just want to make sure a pearl will get along with my other fish (or more importantly, will they get along with it)
The tetras don't nip at the opaline but pearls have longer findso I was wondering if that would be a problem.
My tank parameters are fine btw
EDIT: these are both juveniles and I plan to get a larger tank for when they get older!

I don’t know much about Opalines, but I always thought a 29G was the smallest for Pearls. I thought Opalines were larger too... could be wrong.

If the Opaline is male, it will get aggressive with a Pearl, especially after it reaches full size. Even a female Opaline might eventually get a bit nasty with a Pearl when it matures.

Definitely in a tank is too small for either.

I'm planing on getting a female pearl because I have a male opaline

As said earlier the tank is too small (by far) for either Opalines and Pearls.

Opalines (three spots) males can/will be nasty when matured and definitely when kept in a too small tank. Getting a female from another species won't do a thing about that.

Besides of that I don't understand the need / use of putting two different single ones together.

So a bigger tank is first and getting a fish of the same species (other sex) is another in my opinion.

Very informative, thank you for this! Could you please tell me about your experience with gouramis? I'm pretty new to them.

I personally have kept Pearls and Dwarf Gouramis. Friends having three spots made me decide not to keep those.
My biggest tank is 40G, in which I kept the pearls. They are awesome beautiful fish and should be kept in a well planted tank with a lot of floaters. My pair was very peaceful. When the female died I tehomed the male and got into South American fish (mainly Corys).

But the pearls make me doubt again hahaha

I won't keep Dwarfs anymore cause most of those are sick and die.

Wow! That's very cool! I will definitely rethink my plan, thank you!
