In regards to liveaquaria, all there listings have two purchase options on each fish. One has a Freshwater noted beside it and the other does not. Anyone know what the Freshwater stands for? No difference in price with or without. Just curious.

Thanks, I'm hoping to find in store to reduce the cost but I'm not sure anywhere has them!

Advance aquarium systems in green bay had some but that's a bit of a drive from you.

Well good luck finding some! I also plan on purchasing one from a local store so I can look for a quality fish.

I am pretty sure that stands for "Freshwater", but you can confirm with liveaquaria if you have a question. Pea Puffers come in two varieties--brackish and freshwater. The Freshwater variety have been bred and raised in freshwater and are accustomed to that. The brackish variety will tolerate freshwater up to a point, but as they age will need brackish in order to thrive.

I got my pea puffers from liveaquaria and they are doing great. I’m closer to Chicago and no one is getting any puffer shipments now it seems. They had them all summer now nothing.

The first time I ever saw pea puffers was earlier this year at a store here in Chicago called Old Town Aquarium. I was busy vetting stores and doing research before I bought my first goldfish! You might want to give them a call and see what's up. Here's their website :

Thanks guys for now I ended up getting a KOI betta for my 10 gallon but I’m still considering the pea puffers in the future! I want to do more research and maybe get some live plants going!
