Pea Puffer to control pest snails?

I am thinking about getting 2 pea puffers for my 10g tank. I know they are on the harder side to take care of, but I think I’ve got enough experience with fish. One of my tanks have a crazy pest snail population. I was wondering if I can move those snails into a bowl and breed them in there? Also if they are a good type to feed the puffers to keep their teeth low? They are very small snails as well.

What koind of snails are they? hard to tell. MTS? i give our pea ramshorn snails on occasion. We have a ton of MTS but i think their shell is too hard. Our Pea also eats frozen bloodworms so that may be another option. We started off with 2 Peas in an Aqueon 8.8 but one was gone the next day not sure if it was illness or if one was an Alpha and did the other one in

I believe they are MTS. Where do you get your MTS from?

Unlike their bigger cousins, the pea puffers don't have ever-growing teeth, so you don't need to worry about feeding them snails. On the flipside, they suck snails out of their shells rather than crush them, so will just ignore any snail that's too small to be arsed with.
MTS are a nice add to the tank as they keep it clean, but it'll probably be months before your colony is big enough to serve as a reliable food source cos they bury themselves during the day. You literally need so many of them, that some won't hide.
Ramshorns are the way to go if you want to feed snails to your puffers, even a low tech 5g tank will do the trick.

I'd get a small Rubbermaid bucket or something and throw in some ramshorn/bladder/pond snails. Just feed them and they will multiply. I actually have a "snail" tank that has all mine in it with guppies just to put them somewhere.
