Pea Puffer Or Figure 8 Puffer - Can't Decide

OK, here we go... And please bare with me... I have 2 tanks. a 55 and a 29. I have decided to set these tanks up to have a betta sorority in one (with 2 Crescent Male Bettas... They don't fight), and in the other tank either pea puffers or figure 8's. I love the figure 8s and the PPs. Can decide which way to go. The LFS that has them, has 9 F8s together in a 20 gallon tank, just swimming around. PPs he has a bunch in a 20 gallon (about a good 30, with other fish) just swimming around. Now I know they are territorial, and I have been reading all of the info you guys have been discussing. I am trying to see if I can survive with all 9 of the figure 8s in a 29 gallon that is planted. or should I give them the 55 gallon and give the bettas the 29g. So it would be 6 girls and 2 boys in the betta tank.... if all else fails, I may see if my LFS will do switch out with me and I pay the difference for a 40 gallon with a stand

So to recap... which ones do you guys like the most PP or F8s. ?
Can 9 survive in a 29 or would it be better to go with the PPs
Should I switch the thoughts and put the bettas in the 29 gallon and the Puffers in the 55g?

****!!!! I SHOULD HAVE NEVER STARTED THIS ADDICTION!!!!!

Watching my males in my 75 (have 3) with the girls (13) I honestly don't see 2 male bettas working in a 29. Its just not enough room for them each to have their own territory.

The 2 males are Imbellas. They don't fight.

Figure eight puffers can get very territorial once they get older, so I would only put one puffer in the 29 gallon. You could potentially do 3 figure 8s in the 50 gallon, but you are going to want to make sure you do it when they are young so they can bound with each other.

Okay!! So I don't appreciate you guys twisting my arm and peer pressuring me into buy a 40 gallon tank, and a Eheim Cannister. And I also don't appreciate you forcing my hand and now deciding Bettas in the 75, Puffers in the 55, Community in the 40, aquascaped starting this weekend, heavily planted, and Shrimp in the 32.... You all should be ashamed of yourselves. You guys are all bullies, and no, I will not try and buy a 90 to 125 gallon next month. This is where I draw the line... You guys need to be ashamed of yourselves. Imma start a hashtag movement against all of you... #NomeansI'lldoitandblameyou
