Paul is acting very aggressive with all of my platys

Paul, my Painted Platy, is acting very aggressive with all of my platys, mostly with all of my Mickey Mouse Platys. He also is very aggressive with all platys introduced in his tank. He doesn't bother the ones that are with him right now. How do I fix this problem and be able to house him with other platys?

 

Ok couple of questions-
1. How many platys do you have.
2. How many of each gender do you have.
3. What size tank.
4. How long has this tank been set up.
5. How many fish do you have in it.

 

9 platys, 4 females, 4 males but the rest aren't aggressive as much as Paul is.

 

This might be the problem, you've got a bad ratio. With all those males you need at least 8 females. Platies need a male to female ratio of 1:2. He probably the dominate one and asserting it as well as chasing the females. What size tank is it?

 

Well, hes the platy by himself, in my 5 gallon while the others are in my 40 gallon.

 

Are you planning on keeping him in the 5g? Also are you planning on upping your females in the 40g? Do you have any other fish in the 40g? Sorry for all the questions.
