Paul, my Painted Platy, also suffered from ick/ich but wasn't dead. He was fed to my turtle.

Why are you feeding fish to your turtle? That seems cruel to toss your sick fish to him.

Well, sometimes I do that or just flush them away.

Please never, ever flush them. You can spread their diseases through to natural waterways. If the fish is dead, throw it in the trash or bury it. If it's not dead, humanely euthanize it and then throw it in the trash or bury it.

Please also don't feed sick fish to your turtle. Most turtles do not need to eat feeder fish, and should not be fed your sick fish. If you can't take care of your sick fish (either through preventing their sickness or healing them of it), please euthanize the sick ones and/or rehome the healthy ones. Feeding them to your turtle or flushing them should not be options.
