Patches The Female Betta Breed ID

Hi, yesterday I got a female kio betta. I got her from petco I know that’s a good place to get them but I don’t live near a LFS. She looks great for a petco betta, she acclimated well, ate some baby brine shrimp and adapted to her new tank quickly. I was wondering what breed she is, I know her coloring a kio. I read how to count fin rays and I think she has a lot. If any one can ID her breed that would be great! P.S. her name is patches!:)

Koi plakats are commonly found at Petco's these days, kinda what she looks like to me.

Is there any special care or food plakats need? I soaked some bio-gold pellets I tried to give them to her but she kept spitting them out! Is it because they were to big for her or do you think it's something else? Lol she's watching me as I post about her!

They take the same food as regular long finned in my experience. Maybe my plakat just has expensive tastes or something, but he really likes the Fluval Bug Bite granules. He hates the flakes. I think it's just down to preference, really.

I was feeding the Hakari bio-gold. I wonder why she doesn’t like it?

Cuz bettas. That's why!! Some are just notoriously picky. I haven't really experienced it myself, but have seen several vids and posts with picky bettas.
