One of my new zebra loaches has a white/gray patch on its head. Acting totally normal, they all finally ate today. It’s raised you can see in second picture. It’s not ich I know what that looks like. I was having a hard time getting them to sit still to take a picture this is the best I can get…..should I just keep monitoring it?

At this stage it’s hard to tell,it could be
Ich(early stage)
Columnaris (does it look fuzzy?)
just a injury( nippy tankmates?)

It doesnt look like anything i can diagnose. Possibly an injury from sqeezing into somthing. You have to be really carefull what decorations you have. If it hs a hole, the want in. And a lot of aquarium deco has rought edges inside. If you can reach to sand it down, its not worth it.
keep the water clean, keep an eye on it. FYI, you did i good job with the picture, those loaches are always buzzing around!

It won’t stay still long enough for me to get close to see if it’s fuzzy that was my concern. Could just be a bump maybe from transport also there were 6 in the bag. I’ll keep an eye on it.

The only thing in there is a big piece of driftwood and some silk plants. The HOB intake has a sponge on it. Maybe rubbed up on the wood or got nipped by one of its buddies. There aren’t any other fish in there just the loaches. I’ll just keep the water clean. They sound like a nightmare to medicate. Thanks they are starting to trust me a little bit more maybe I can get some better pics tomorrow.

Ok, I am now concerned that it is columnaris. I think I see a patch developing on a second loach. They are both very small spots but I’m reading and it seems like if that’s what it is then it is contagious. What can I do to treat it?
