So question , My new guppy i've had him for about 2 weeks I noticed yesterday he had clamped fins and was stressing out. Closer look and I see a patch of grey on his top part.
So I was curious if anybody with more experience could ID this cause. Right now I am using Salt and Seachem StressGuard to keep the stress down but as you can see KaI is stressed out :/ I'm thinking MAYBE fungus but I want to make sure before I go like medicating for something and it end up he just needs a AQ salts.

A mark like that is a classic symptom of columnaris. Salt probably won't be strong enough. Can you get antibiotics?

I have kanaplex and Neoplex that I have used in the past to treat Finrot on my betta, and after a quick research, I think you may be right. I do have CoryCats in the tank and I recently did a large water change and gravel rinse when I moved my tank downstairs everyone's been happy until this moment so i'm wondering if this has what's been plaguing my fish for the last bit.

Thanks for the info, gonna dose with NeoPlex By seachem I never read up on mouthrot assuming it was something soley related to the mouth. Gonna miss my Punk Ghost shrimp stealing from my other fish since I think the tank itself is infected as I've had a few cory's die, I am forced to move him to my betta tank.

It usually is in the tank but fish become susceptible to it ifctheir immunity is compromised.

What size tank? What is it stocked with? Do you know what your parameters are?

My parameters are good, In fact The tank has been doing better then it has in the past. ammonia and Nitrite are 0, I change weekly Nitrate is low since I just did a water change yesterday. It's a planted tank so I don't vacuum the gravel every week though I will prob make a point to do so on the next water change. It's a 20long Long currently only 3 guppies and 4 Panda Cory. There used to be 10 Neons and 6 pandas , we got a 40 gal from our sister in law with her fish so the tetras got transfered

Hmm. Sounds ideal. How long have you had the affected fish?

Just chamging to a new tank could have been the stressor that allowed the infection to take hold. Some fish are more resilient than others.

Well sadly to say he's gone now. Removing the medicine don't want to hurt anymore of the fish who seem to be doing fine and happy no patchs no signs of stress or anything. Thanks for the info though. I have a male Guppy in the other tank I can move into this one. the 40 gal is slightly over stocked so pulling him out should help the other tank.

Yeah it's fine I did one more check and yeah didn't like the readings did my water c hange Primed it up and put some more seed in it. So here's the lesson to learn. Make sure you SHAKE ThoSE test bottles before you test the water. super important else you won't get the right reading.
