Sand or bare bottom is what I got out of all my reading and Fred like to pick up sand and spit it out where he wants it. I think just a thin layer is best because they can be quite messy

Their colors are looking so much better today. They must be settling in ok.
I named them Daisy and Duke. I did pet dukes head. But then I tried again and he backed up and basically jumped out of the water to bite me lol. So now I’m sad Bc he doesn’t like me haha

They look great) The male which I am am assuming is the purple one, his kok will get rounder with time. See how it is a little dented, Fred’s was like that when I first got him just because of the stress. They are so cute) I wish I had more big tanks so I could have more FH

I was going to say duke but I didn’t want you to laugh I absolutely love the names

He likes you he just thought you had food Fred bits my hubby when he cleans the tank because I am to short to reach the bottom. He says it doesn’t hurt too much but Fred doesn’t have big teeth so far! Lol

They aren’t eating a whole lot. Or really anything. Just since yesterday. But is hat normal from the stress of a move to a new home?

Thank you just wanted to show you what stress can do to a flowerhorn. Fred got lost in the mail luckily he was shipped excellent so he made it just fine.

Yes, it takes a little for them to get comfortable. How many pellets are they eating? If they don’t eat tomorrow than maybe try small pieces of shrimp, just to get them going. How big are they? I can’t remember if I asked for inches? If they don’t have anything to hide behind or in they can get scared too. I had to use tall fake plants and Fred decided I couldn’t see him if he was behind those. Lol

Daisy is about 4 inches and Duke is about 6 I’d say.
Maybe they need more stuff. Their tanks are still temporary and I’m trying to get everything organized.
When you say shrimp you mean like from a pet store? Grocery store? Lol. Sorry I’m new at this! Do they eat frozen bloodworms? I have some in the freezer
Did you get my PM? Did it work? I need to learn my way around this place haha

Shrimp from the grocery store, you want to buy raw but you can get the frozen kind it’s cheaper that way They do eat bloodworms but they aren’t very nutritious. Maybe see if they will eat the bloodworms now but if they don’t eat them you have to take them out.

It’s ok short term in the temp tanks but they probably won’t act quite normal if they are in a small space.

No I didn’t get the PM. I think you have to post a certain amount to be able to use it. I will try to send you another one and see if it works now.
