My blood parrot is upside down and its very strange. Its alive and eating, but its always upside down. It will occasionally stand straight and eat but im worried. I researched al;ot and i think it might be constipated or something with its swim bladder, i followed the directions to not feed it for 24 hours then feed it peas. Nothing has worked, any help? fish is 4-6 inches i guess

I don’t think peas are part of a blood parrot’s diet. I’m beginning to become skeptical wether peas actually relieve constipation and swim bladder issues in fish or not. Due to their mouth shape, blood parrots would have difficulties eating peas anyway as with other foods. They’re not natural fish and are bred for their deformities, which impacts their feeding. Six inches and still not fully grown...

Is this the same blood parrot that’s in your 16 gallon with an oscar?

In all honesty, you’re making multiple threads that can only be answered in the same way as one another. The tank is far too small. Those fish are slowly killing each other for territory due to the sheer lack of room. They’re likely being stunted too. You’ve posted pictures in your other threads and the blood parrot is discoloured and beaten up. There’s just so much wrong going on.

You can’t afford a bigger tank (120 gallons+ recommended for both fish) so you must rehome both fish. They’re severely damaged and stressed as you can’t provide for them adequately.

Next time you want to buy fish, do extensive research online and run it down with us. Don’t listen to your pet shop.

If people recommend peas they include it's not supposed to be the whole pea at once.
A couple of tiny bits of a de-shelled pea, Not canned, frozen and thawed. Followed by fasting.
Alternating the two. It certainly wont help over night if it's going to help.
