Parasites or ‘pregnant’?

Hey all,

so in my 30 gal tank I’ve got 5-6 celestial pearl danios, oodles of shrimp, 5 snails, and one lonely Kuhli who I’ve ordered friends for (long story how that poor guy ended up alone). But I’m mostly concerned about the cpd right now.

Their bellies are really round - and I’m not sure if it’s because of parasites, or because they’re carrying eggs. I haven’t noticed any changes in behavior lately, nor have I seen any changes in color - they’re just as bright as they always have been.

last I checked, the water quality was perfect, though if need be I can check again! I attached a few (blurry) pictures of what I could. They move so fast, I can hardly ever get a good picture of them lol.

I’m hoping I’m worrying over nothing, but I figure it’s better safe then sorry!

I doubt it’s any sort of parasite if they’re behavior is normal. Are they all fat or just a few?

ZachG that’s what I was thinking too, tbh. Most of em are chubby, but some of them are slimmer. I will admit I don’t know which are males and which are females.

If I had to guess I would say they’re pregnant, it’s normal for them to eat more than the other fish because they need the energy. Either way time will tell
