Hello all. I just noticed my betta tanks both have these tiny white things crawling on the inside of my tanks. I just recently placed one piece of cholla wood in each tank

You can see in the one pic I attached that they are floating on top of the water too!!

What on earth are these?? They’re moving all over the inside of the tank!

I only see a few, but they look like detritus worms. They're harmless; they just eat excess food in the tank. They're actually pretty good for a tank. But, they're also sometimes a sign of overfeeding.

I wouldn't worry about it, but probably cut back on how much you're feeding if your betta is missing food and letting it fall to the gravel.

My one tank has at least a hundred, you can’t tell in the pictures but I just noticed them and freaked out! Haha.

I just added a piece of cholla wood to each tank last night and also added a different brand betta fish food a week ago. But as long as they are harmless I won’t worry.

some of those could be tiny crustaceans called cyclops too! they're interesting little creatures, neat to watch.

I agree it looks like onky detritous worms. Give your gravel a good vac next water change and you'll get rid of most of them
