Panda Cory super active behavior

I've got three panda cories in a 29 gallon tall tank. I've had them before but they've always been pretty subdued: hiding in driftwood and rocks, moving slowly, staying close to the bottom, darting to the back of the tank if someone walks by.

These three are the absolute opposite. They are super active all day (and night) long, they dart around at top speeds, they seem to prefer the mid to top range of the tank (swimming around with the danios), they swim up and down constantly playing in the airstone bubbles. It's awesome to watch but is it normal? All water parameters are normal and they're not doing any kind of gasping thing at the surface…it seems to purely be for fun.

Mine swim up and down the air bubbles and against the current quite a lot.

They are so fun to watch

Those are Cories for you

AkarI is right. It couldve been a simple environment change that spiked the change. I have found that my pandas love having things being changed and actually play with my fingers when I gravel vac. I put the bubble wall on for them for 2 hours a day and they go mad into it when I do put it on. After that they are subdued again

I have ten in my 20 gallon tall tank, and they won't stop investigating...
click the "check out my blog" in my signature and click the "my new panda corys" thread and that shows what I observe about them... I LOVE mine! They are sensitive though...

They are sensitive though...

They can be. 10 in a 20 gallon tall might be the reason, might not be though.

Cories are strange creatures that IME take the longest to settle in a new environment. Once they do though, they are great!
