One of my corys seems paler than before. I'm not sure if it really was or if I just noticed now, but does that happen? Can fish turn paler, and if so what can you do about it?

Yes, they can change color. A change in the color of a fish usually indicates illness and/or stress.

My betta lost color when he was extremely constipated, but that is not the only cause. They can do it when they are suffering from ammonia problems or oxygen starvation or just having a stress from being harassed by other fish.

Hey Rose. The cory in question (the second biggest one, a female I think) recovered from that a couple of weeks ago. I think it was just stress, probably from Rusty chasing her.

Could very well be. He has been chasing and Cories have less tolerance for the hassling than the Otos do. They will get used to it eventually but are going to be stressed until they do.
