HELP! My Black skirt has lost his black skirt. He is one of five in a large cycled tank. the skirt is white and he seems to chase the others around from time to time. is this normal, is it a mating thing or is he sick. Please help.

I would love to hear the answer of this one as well. I am new to thebfish world, but I can tell you that this happens with my fish as well. From time to time, their black skirtsd turn white. I don't know why either. But, if it makes you feel better, mine are doing just fine and their color does return, so maybe it just happens when they are stressed out??

Crikey! This happens to my black tetras as well! I thought it was just natural, and never bothered about it!
Can't say it bothered them, they are just as fine when the skirt is white as when it is black.

Hi! I am new to all of this, I have black skirts in a 29 gallon, 7 of them. I absolutly love them, this hasnt happened and I have had them for a couple of weeks now. I was thinking maybe yours are lonely? Do you have any tank mates with them if so what kind? And what size tank? Which Food(s) you are feeding them? I feed mine Wardleys Total Tropical Gourmet flakes, and switch off sometimes to a Veggie Flake<-- they go crazy for it! Sorry for all the questions I'm just trying to see if it could be something like that causing it. I hope they get better I know how pretty their skirts are. :]
