I have a cracked ten gallon I was hoping to set up for a pacman frog. What things do I need? I know I need a big water container and substrate. I have an air conditioner for my room(Standalone) so I don't need a side tank heater
Really? The crack is about 41/2 inches diagonally in the middle. I read everywhere that it was fine for pacmans. If not, what cool critters could go in there? I just can't feed live foods
The problem is, pacmans do need live insects.
Crickets, ect.
Yes, they could go in there just fine.
I would just recommend a 20 gallon for a happier life experience.
Hermit Crabs do not need live foods.
They eat very healthy foods! My brothers hermit crabs have a very healthy selection of foods.
He feeds them dried berries, dried oats, crushed freeze dried brine shrimp, fruits, and veggies, and sometimes crushed egg shells.
I would say the better route to go if you don't want to feed live foods, hermit crabs are the better route, they also are way more fun!
Pacmans don't liked to be bothered most of the day, and just usually like to sit there, and don't like to be handled.
Hermit crabs are always mostly moving, unless they have borrowed into the substrate. Also you can handle them most of the times, just don't stress them out with too much handling.

I'm not sure about any other creatures that can thrive in that size of tank.
Do lots of research before purchasing.
