HI guys
I'm intending on building an overflow (into sump) for my 250litre freshwater tank and was wondering how effective the system would be for filtration sucking the water from the surface rather than sucking it in from lower in the tank (as in canister filter inlet tube)?
I understand that in a saltwater tank debris floats more - so would LOVE some responses.
I'm fairly OCD when it comes to water quality and am really looking forward to setting up my sump with wet/dry, K1 etc. compartments but would love to hear from someone who has a similar overflow/freshwater setup and how well the system filters - and if I need to get used to the idea that regular vacs will be the only way to keep sand poop free.
Thanks heaps!
